Coverage Area | Where We Drive From Arlanda, and What It Costs
The E4 motorway running south from Arlanda towards Stockholm
51 destinations · 3 km to 150 · One rate card

We do not have a service area. We have a rate card.

Most operators publish a boundary and refuse what falls outside it. We publish a base fare and a price per kilometre, which means the question is never whether we will drive somewhere but simply what it costs. That card runs from the terminal doorstep out to about 150 kilometres — far enough to reach Gävle, Skavsta, Eskilstuna and Västerås. Past that we still drive; we just quote the journey individually instead of taking a number off a table.

Quick answer

We serve Stockholm, Uppsala and the whole Mälardalen from Arlanda, and the price is always the same calculation: a base fare plus a rate per kilometre driven, rounded up to the nearest 5 SEK, with a minimum fare underneath. For an Economy car that is 255 SEK plus 11 SEK per kilometre, floored at 445. So Sigtuna at 15 km is 445, Kista at 30 is 585, Stockholm and Uppsala at 40 are both 695, the cruise quays at 45 are 750, and Gävle at 140 is 1 795. The prices below are starting from figures — we calculate the real distance to your actual address and confirm the exact number in writing before you book. Beyond 150 km we quote individually.

01 — How coverage works here

A boundary is a business decision. Distance is a fact.

Publishing the arithmetic instead of a map has one awkward consequence we are stuck with, and we would rather point at it than hope you miss it.

1

One formula, everywhere

Base fare + (per km × km), rounded up to the nearest 5 SEK, floored at the minimum. The full card for all five vehicle classes is on the transfers page. Nothing on this page is chosen by hand.

2

The floor, not the formula

Under about 18 km the calculation falls below the minimum fare, so everything inside Sigtuna Municipality costs 445 SEK. A 3 km hop between terminals costs the same as the 15 km run into Sigtuna, because a car and a driver still have to come.

3

Direction is free

Uppsala is 40 km north and Stockholm 40 km south, so both are 695 SEK. A published per-kilometre rate leaves no room to charge more for the direction with the wealthier passengers, which is rather the point of publishing it.

4

150 km is where it stops

Past that the driver's empty return leg becomes most of the job and the formula stops describing the work. We still drive it — we quote it individually and confirm in writing first.

02 — The shape of it

Rings, not borders.

A schematic rather than a map: direction and distance are roughly right, everything else is not. The tables below carry the actual numbers.

Coverage from Stockholm Arlanda, by road distance A schematic, not a map. Arlanda sits at the centre with rings at 20, 50, 100 and 150 kilometres, and destinations are placed by rough compass direction. Inside 20 km: Märsta, Sigtuna and Knivsta. Between 20 and 50 km: Kista, Solna, Stockholm, Uppsala, Bromma Airport, Lidingö, Värtahamnen, Uppsala Ärna and Vaxholm. Between 50 and 100 km: Enköping, Norrtälje, Södertälje, Kapellskär, Nynäshamn and Strängnäs. Between 100 and 150 km: Västerås, Eskilstuna, Gävle and Skavsta Airport. Beyond 150 km every journey is quoted individually. The radius uses a compressed scale so the near destinations stay readable. Every distance and price shown here is also in the tables below. 20 km 50 km 100 km 150 km Gävle140 Uppsala40 Uppsala Ärna48 Knivsta20 Sigtuna15 Märsta10 Norrtälje65 Kapellskär90 Vaxholm50 Lidingö43 Värtahamnen45 Stockholm40 Solna33 Kista30 Bromma40 Nynäshamn100 Södertälje75 Skavsta140 Strängnäs100 Eskilstuna110 Västerås105 Enköping60 ARN
Distances are road-routing estimates from the airport. The radius is drawn on a compressed scale so the near destinations stay legible — Gävle at 140 km is genuinely nine times further out than Märsta at 10, not twice. Darker dots sit inside 100 km, lighter ones beyond it.
03 — Fifty-one destinations

Every one of these is arithmetic, not opinion.

Economy car, per vehicle rather than per person, inclusive of tolls, the congestion charge, the Arlanda access charge, parking, waiting and luggage. For the other four vehicle classes, see the rate card.

These are starting from prices for an Economy car, derived from distances measured to the centre of each place. Your actual address will be a kilometre or two either side, and we calculate the real figure — the same way, from the same card — when we quote. The number we confirm in writing is the number you pay: it does not move for traffic, for the hour of day, or because it turns out to be a busy Saturday. Not seeing your address? It is very likely a few kronor either side of the nearest place listed. Send it to us and you will have the exact figure, usually within the hour.

04 — Airports, ports and terminals

The connections nobody plans for.

Inter-airport runs and quayside pickups are a bigger part of our work than the route pages suggest, and they are the ones people leave until far too late.

Prices from, per vehicle. Skavsta is the one to plan properly: at about 140 km it is nearly two hours from Arlanda and there is no useful public transport link between the two airports, so a mis-timed connection there is an expensive afternoon. For sailings, we ask for your ship, deck and muster time rather than just an hour — the reasoning is on the cruise terminals page, along with the advice not to book a flight before 11:00 on disembarkation day. The ship will not wait, and neither will the check-in desk.

05 — Past the card

Beyond 150 km we still drive. We just stop publishing.

This is the only place our published pricing stops, and it is a limit of the formula rather than of where a car will go.

Why it stops

The empty return leg

A per-kilometre rate built around a 40 km airport run assumes the car finds other work at the far end. At 200 km it will not — the driver comes back empty, and the return is most of the day. Publishing a number that does not cover that, then adjusting it afterwards, is exactly the behaviour the rest of this site exists to avoid.

What we do instead

Quote it, in writing, first

Send the destination and the date and you get one figure, confirmed in writing, before you commit to anything. It is worked out from the same base and per-kilometre logic with the return leg accounted for honestly, rather than pulled out of the air. Allow a couple of weeks — a run like that takes a car and a driver out of circulation for a whole day.

What we would tell you

Often, to take the train

Gävle, Uppsala, Västerås and Eskilstuna all have good rail links, and for one or two people travelling light the train usually wins on both money and time. Where a car earns its place is three or four travellers, checked luggage, an address away from a station, a night arrival, or a deadline that will not wait.

1

Kungsberget · ~180 km

About two hours, near Sandviken. A weekend hill most people reach by car anyway — sensible with a group and equipment.

2

Romme Alpin · ~200 km

Roughly two and a half hours, near Borlänge. The closest proper alpine skiing to Stockholm and a genuine day trip.

3

Sälen · 410 km

Four to five hours each way. It has its own airport twenty minutes from the hotels, and we will usually tell you to fly.

4

Åre · ~600 km

Seven hours. Served by Åre Östersund. Take the night train from Stockholm Central and sleep through it — we will drive you to the sleeper.

Worth saying plainly

On several of the destinations on this page, something cheaper is better

To Sigtuna, SL buses run from the terminals and dodge the Arlanda passage fee entirely, so a 43 SEK ticket does it against our 445. To Solna, the airport coach stops at Järva krog, Frösunda and Haga Norra for 99 SEK. To Uppsala, the train takes 18 minutes. To Stockholm, the Arlanda Express takes 18 and costs 340 SEK a head — so one or two people travelling light in the middle of the day should take it, and we say so on the route page. The arithmetic changes with three or four travellers (our price is per car, theirs is per person), checked luggage, an address away from the station, a night arrival, or a deadline like a sailing. Those are the bookings we actually want, and pretending otherwise would only get us the ones we would handle badly.

06 — Coverage questions

Where, how far, and how much.

Questions about a specific route are answered on that route's own page. These are the ones that apply to the map as a whole.

Do you have a service area boundary?
Not in the usual sense. We do not keep a list of postcodes inside which we drive and outside which we refuse. Every journey comes off the same published card — a base fare plus a per-kilometre rate — so the question is never whether we go somewhere but what it costs to get there. The card runs to about 150 kilometres from the airport, which reaches Gävle, Skavsta, Eskilstuna and Västerås. Beyond it we still drive; we just quote the journey individually rather than taking a number off a table.
Why does the published pricing stop at 150 kilometres?
Because past roughly that distance the driver's empty return leg becomes most of the job, and a per-kilometre rate designed around a 40 km airport run stops describing the work honestly. Rather than publish a figure that does not cover it and adjust afterwards, we quote long runs individually and confirm in writing before you commit. It is the only place our published pricing stops, and it is a limit of the formula rather than of where we will drive.
My address is not on the list — does that mean you do not go there?
No. The fifty-one places above are examples chosen to show the shape of the pricing, not a register of everywhere we serve. If yours is not listed, find the nearest place that is and your fare will be close to it — or send us the address and you will have the exact figure, calculated the same way, usually within the hour. Nobody has ever been told we do not serve their address. They have only ever been told what it costs.
Does the price change by direction?
No. The fare depends on distance driven and nothing else, so a journey costs the same in both directions and the same whether it starts or ends at the terminal. The clearest demonstration is on this page: Stockholm is 40 km south of Arlanda and Uppsala is 40 km north, so both are 695 SEK in an Economy car. A published per-kilometre rate leaves no room for charging more in one direction than the other, which is precisely why we publish it.
Do you drive between the Stockholm airports?
Yes, and more often than people expect — a mis-timed connection, a charter out of one airport and a scheduled flight into another, or a group split across two arrivals. Bromma is about 40 km at 695 SEK, Uppsala Ärna about 48 at 785, Västerås about 110 at 1 410, and Skavsta about 140 at 1 795. Skavsta especially is worth planning: it is nearly two hours away and there is no useful public transport link between the two airports.
Are the distances exact?
They are routing estimates to the centre of each place, not measurements of your particular journey, and the outer ones are rounder than the inner ones. That is exactly why the figures here are starting from prices: we calculate the real distance to your actual address when we quote, and the number we confirm in writing is the number you pay. In practice a district-level estimate lands within a few kilometres, which at 11 SEK per kilometre in an Economy car is a difference of tens of kronor rather than hundreds.
Can you collect from somewhere that is not the airport?
Yes. Nothing in the pricing assumes an airport at either end — it is a distance calculation, so a run from Uppsala to a cruise quay, or between two addresses inside the city, is priced exactly the same way. Airport work is simply most of what we do. If you need a vehicle held rather than moved between two points, the hourly chauffeur card is usually the better instrument — four-hour minimum, 20 km included per hour.
How far ahead should I book for the outer bands?
Inside 50 km, an hour or two is usually enough and 24 hours guarantees the vehicle class. Between 50 and 100 km, book the day before. Between 100 and 150 km — Västerås, Eskilstuna, Gävle, Skavsta — the vehicle is out for most of a working day, so give us several days, and more during the February sportlov weeks or the summer cruise season. Beyond 150 km, allow a couple of weeks.
Wherever it is

Send the address. We will send the arithmetic.

One figure, calculated from the published card, confirmed in writing before you travel. And if the train is the better answer for your journey, we will tell you that instead.
