Arlanda to Solna, priced to your street.

Solna is the first municipality inside the Stockholm boundary and closer to the airport than the city centre — but it stretches about seven kilometres from Järva krog down to Solna strand. Because we charge by the kilometre, that difference shows up in the price instead of being averaged away. From 620 SEK per vehicle, fixed before you book.

Quick answer

A private transfer from Arlanda (ARN) to Solna starts from 620 SEK in an Economy sedan and from 790 SEK in a Standard Mercedes E-Class — per vehicle, not per person. Solna sits 31 to 38 km south of the terminal on the E4, 25 to 35 minutes door to door, so the price moves with your district: roughly 600 SEK to Järva krog, 620 to Arenastaden, 640 to Solna centrum and 675 to Solna strand. Worth knowing before you book anything: the airport coach stops at Järva krog, Frösunda and Haga Norra — inside Solna — from 99 SEK. If you are travelling light to one of those three, take it.

Priced by distance, not by the meter.

Every published figure is a starting-from price. The rate card below is the same one we use on every route, which is why a shorter run to Solna costs less than the same car to Stockholm.

Starting-from prices in SEK, per vehicle, VAT included, along with tolls, the congestion charge, the Arlanda access charge, parking, waiting time and luggage handling. They are quoted to Arenastaden at 33 km, the nearest of Solna's main destinations; the table in the next section gives the figure for every other district. A night surcharge may apply between 23:00 and 05:00 and is always shown before you confirm.

How the final price is worked out

Every figure on this site is a starting-from price. The fare itself is built from a base fare plus a per-kilometre rate for the distance actually driven, rounded up to the nearest 5 SEK, with a minimum fare that applies to short runs. We calculate it and lock it before you book — there is no meter, no surge and nothing recalculated afterwards.

All figures in SEK, per vehicle, VAT included. Worked example: an Economy sedan to Arenastaden is 255 SEK base + 11 SEK × 33 km = 618 SEK, rounded up to 620 SEK. The same car to Stockholm or Uppsala, both about 40 km out, comes to 695 SEK on the identical arithmetic — Solna costs less because it is nearer, not because we decided it should. Below roughly 20 km (12 miles) the minimum fare applies instead.

1

Always a “from” price

Published prices are the starting point. Your own address, the vehicle class and any extra stops decide the final figure.

2

Distance, not the clock

The rate runs on kilometres driven door to door, not on minutes. Traffic, a delayed flight or a slow baggage belt cannot move the number.

3

A floor, not a surprise

Short journeys fall to the minimum fare for the class rather than dropping below what it costs to send a licensed car and driver.

4

Fixed before you book

You see the exact total, in writing, before you confirm. Tolls, the Arlanda access charge, parking, waiting time and luggage handling are already inside it.

02 — Your address

Seven kilometres of Solna, seven different prices.

Most operators quote one flat figure for a whole municipality, which means the near end subsidises the far end. Here is the actual arithmetic for each district, Economy class.

Distances are terminal to district centre by the E4; your exact street may sit a kilometre either side and the quote will say so. Drive times are for normal conditions — add 15 to 20 minutes for a weekday afternoon arrival, when the E4 southbound backs up through Järva krog, and a little more in snow. Prices shown are Economy; multiply through the rate card above for the other classes.

Heading just over the boundary to Sundbyberg, Kista, Bromma or central Stockholm? The same rate card applies and the figure simply follows the extra kilometres. All routes and prices
03 — The honest comparison

Solna has the best public transport of any route we run.

Coach stops inside the municipality, a commuter station at Arenastaden and two metro lines. We would rather tell you that than have you find out afterwards.

How you travel Two adultstotal, one way Four adultstotal, one way Time What actually happens
Flygbussarna coachterminals → Solna stops 198396~30–35 min From 99 SEK each, every twenty minutes, no station passage fee. Stops at Järva krog, Frösunda and Haga Norra — and nowhere else in Solna.
SL commuter trainArlanda C → Solna station 380760~30 min 43 SEK ticket plus a 147 SEK Arlanda passage fee per adult. Lands you at Arenastaden, beside the arena and the mall.

Taxi from the rankauthorised operators variesvaries25–35 min Fine if you check the yellow price sticker before getting in. Nobody is tracking your flight and the car is whatever is at the front of the queue.

Fares in SEK, adult one-way, cheapest option first because on this route it deserves to be. The train figure is SL's 43 SEK single ticket plus the 147 SEK Arlanda passage fee, which is charged to pass the barriers at Arlanda C and catches out most first-time visitors. Swedavia adds a 30 SEK pickup fee to taxis leaving the rank. Against our car the crossover is four adults for the train; the coach stays cheaper at almost any headcount, which is exactly why the next section is about when it still is not the right answer.

04 — When to book us, when not to

Three stops is not a whole municipality.

The coach is cheap and good. It also serves three points on the northern edge of Solna, and the places most people are actually going are not among them.

The coverage gap

Karolinska is not on anyone's route

The coach stops at Järva krog, Frösunda and Haga Norra. The commuter train stops at Solna station and Ulriksdal. Karolinska University Hospital, Solna strand, Huvudsta and most of Solna Business Park are on none of them, so the journey ends with a tram, a metro change or a second taxi — which is where a 99 SEK ticket stops being 99 SEK.

The evening problem

Event nights empty the platforms

An international at Strawberry Arena puts up to 50,000 people onto one commuter station, and a concert up to 65,000. Coming from the airport into that is manageable; leaving Solna for a flight while it happens is not. On those evenings we build the extra time into the pickup rather than discovering it at Solna station.

The afternoon peak

The E4 backs up at Järva krog

Between roughly 15:30 and 18:00 the southbound E4 slows through the Järva krog interchange, which is the gateway to every Solna address. The drive stretches from 28 minutes toward 50. It is the one predictable thing about this route, so we build it into the quote instead of leaving it as your surprise.

1

We watch the flight

Dispatch tracks your flight number from the moment you book. Land early, land four hours late — the pickup moves with the aircraft and you tell us nothing.

2

Free waiting runs

60 minutes from touchdown on Schengen arrivals, 90 minutes on intercontinental. That covers passport control and the belt without a clock running against you.

3

Name board in arrivals

Your driver stands inside the hall, not in a car park. You get their name, photo and mobile number by message before you land.

4

South on the E4

Bags loaded, motorway south, and a Solna address in 25 to 35 minutes — the shortest run of any route on this site.

Worth saying plainly

Frösunda, Järva krog or Haga Norra, travelling light? Take the coach

At 99 SEK against 620, every twenty minutes, with the stop on your doorstep and no passage fee to trip over, the Flygbussarna coach is the better answer and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Solna is the only route where we say that about a bus. Book us instead when the picture changes: an address away from those three stops, a numbered entrance at Karolinska, four or more travellers, checked luggage, a landing after 22:00, an event night at the arena, or a company that would rather a visitor arrived at the door than worked out a tram connection in the dark.

05 — At the airport

Met at the right terminal.

Arlanda has three working terminals and Terminal 2 is a separate building. Give us the airline at booking and the driver will be standing in the correct hall.

T5

Terminal 5

SAS, Star Alliance and most intercontinental arrivals. The largest arrivals hall at Arlanda, and the one most Solna-bound guests come through.

T2

Terminal 2

oneworld, SkyTeam and several low-cost international carriers. A separate building south of the main complex — a driver waiting at Terminal 5 by mistake costs you twenty real minutes.

T4

Terminal 4

Domestic arrivals from Gothenburg, Malmö, Luleå and the regional network. Linked to Terminal 5 on foot through SkyCity in five to seven minutes. Terminal 3 is closed.

What we do

Name board inside the hall, luggage carried to the car, and a driver who already knows whether you are going to a ward entrance, an office reception or a hotel.

Connecting from a domestic flight, or arriving on a long-haul with a three-hour immigration queue behind it? Tell us at booking and we set the waiting allowance to match the arrival rather than the schedule. Read the airport guide
06 — Karolinska and the arena

A small municipality with two very large front doors.

Solna holds one of Europe's major medical campuses and Sweden's national stadium within three kilometres of each other. Both generate arrivals that a timetable handles badly.

01

Karolinska University Hospital

A very large site with numbered entrances, where the difference between the right ingång and the wrong one is a long walk — and a hard one when someone is arriving for treatment or to be with family. Give us the entrance or building at booking. For patients travelling with equipment or limited mobility, tell us and we send a vehicle that suits rather than the next car in the queue.

Talk to dispatch →
02

Karolinska Institutet

The medical university whose Nobel Assembly awards the prize in Physiology or Medicine, and a constant stream of visiting researchers, examiners, collaborators and conference speakers arriving through Arlanda. Departments book on an invoice with a reference code, so nobody is reclaiming a taxi receipt afterwards, and the driver is briefed on which building.

Invoiced bookings →
03

Strawberry Arena & the mall

Sweden's national stadium — Friends Arena until July 2024 — seats about 50,000 for football and 65,000 for a concert, hosts Melodifestivalen every year, and sits beside Westfield Mall of Scandinavia and its 224 shops. We price event nights on the ordinary rate card: no surge, and the car held from the moment you book.

07 — Business travel in Solna

More head offices than its size suggests.

For a municipality of its size Solna carries an unusual concentration of corporate headquarters — SEB and Telia at Arenastaden, the office clusters at Solna Business Park, Frösunda and Solna strand — and every one of them brings visitors in through Arlanda. It is a half-hour drive that repeats every week, which makes it the easiest part of a visit to get consistently right.

Invoiced, not expensed

Monthly invoicing with cost centres and reference codes on each line, so travel reconciles without anyone photographing a receipt at a taxi rank.

Pre-agreed site rates

Fixed rates held for your regular addresses — Arenastaden, Solna Business Park, Frösunda, Solna strand — so the number in the quote is the number on the invoice.

Candidate and visitor arrivals

A named driver meeting a candidate or a visiting client in the arrivals hall is a small thing that does a lot of work on a first impression. We brief the driver on who they are meeting.

Teams and convoys

Six in a V-Class, fourteen in a Sprinter, and matched vehicles moving together above that — the usual answer for a delegation or a conference cohort landing on one flight.

08 — Solna questions

Arlanda to Solna, answered.

Going further into the city? See Arlanda to Stockholm. Terminal practicalities are in the airport guide.

How long does it take to get from Arlanda to Solna?
25 to 35 minutes. Solna is the first municipality south of the Stockholm boundary on the E4 and is closer to the airport than the city centre — between 31 km at Järva krog and 38 km at Solna strand. Allow an extra 15 to 20 minutes for a weekday afternoon arrival, when the southbound E4 slows through the Järva krog interchange, and a little more in snow. We build that into the quote rather than leaving it to chance.
How much is a transfer from Arlanda to Solna?
From 620 SEK per vehicle in an Economy sedan and from 790 SEK in a Standard Mercedes E-Class, both for up to three guests with luggage. Because Solna spans about seven kilometres, the price varies by district: roughly 600 SEK to Järva krog, 620 to Arenastaden, 640 to Solna centrum, 665 to Karolinska and 675 to Solna strand. These are starting-from prices, calculated as a base fare plus a per-kilometre rate — for Economy, 255 SEK plus 11 SEK per km, rounded up to the nearest 5 SEK — subject to a 445 SEK minimum fare, and fixed in writing before you book.
Is the airport coach cheaper than a transfer?
Yes, and Solna is the one route where we will actively point you at it. The Flygbussarna airport coach stops at Järva krog, Frösunda and Haga Norra — all inside Solna — from 99 SEK per person, roughly every twenty minutes, with no station passage fee. If you are travelling light and your address is near one of those three, take the coach. It stops being the answer once you are carrying luggage, travelling as four or more, arriving late at night, or heading anywhere else in Solna, which is most of it.
Is the commuter train cheaper?
For one or two people, yes. An SL single ticket is 43 SEK, but the Arlanda station passage fee adds 147 SEK, so the real cost is about 190 SEK per adult for a roughly 30-minute ride to Solna station. Two adults pay about 380 SEK and four about 760 SEK, which is more than our 620 SEK car. Where the train genuinely shines is Arenastaden — Solna station sits beside the arena and the mall. It is Karolinska, Solna strand and everywhere off the rail line where it stops working.
Where exactly does the driver meet me?
Inside the arrivals hall of your terminal, holding a board with your name — not at a rank and not in a car park. Terminal 5 for SAS, Star Alliance and most long-haul, Terminal 2 for oneworld, SkyTeam and several low-cost carriers, Terminal 4 for domestic. Terminal 3 is closed. You get your driver's name, photo and mobile number by message before you land.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
Nothing that costs you money. We track the flight number rather than the clock, so the pickup moves with the aircraft whether you are twenty minutes late or four hours late. Free waiting is 60 minutes from touchdown on Schengen arrivals and 90 minutes on intercontinental, which covers passport control and the baggage belt comfortably. There is no surge pricing and no rebooking fee for a delay.
Do you drive to Karolinska University Hospital and Karolinska Institutet?
Yes, and to the specific numbered entrance rather than the site in general. Karolinska in Solna is a very large hospital and research campus, and the walk from the wrong entrance to the right one is a real one when someone is travelling for treatment or arriving to be with family. Give us the ingång or the building at booking. For patients travelling with medical equipment or limited mobility, tell us and we send a suitable vehicle. Karolinska is also one of the addresses public transport serves worst, which is why it is the most common Solna booking we take.
Can you handle transfers for events at Strawberry Arena?
Yes. The arena at Arenastaden — called Friends Arena until July 2024 — seats about 50,000 for football and up to 65,000 for a concert, hosts Melodifestivalen every year, and is the home of the Sweden men's national team and AIK. An event night moves a great many people through one commuter station at once. We price those evenings on the ordinary rate card — there is no surge — and the vehicle is held from the moment you book. Groups above six travel in a Sprinter; above fourteen we run a convoy of matched cars arriving together.
Do you offer corporate accounts for Solna businesses?
Yes. Monthly invoicing with cost-centre and reference-code tagging on every line, a named account contact, priority allocation on repeat routes, and pre-agreed rates for the addresses you use most — Arenastaden, Solna Business Park, Frösunda, Solna strand and the Solna centrum hotels. For its size Solna carries an unusual concentration of head offices, and visitor, candidate and auditor arrivals are the bookings we handle most often there.
How far ahead should I book?
Twenty-four hours guarantees the vehicle class you want. Solna's demand comes in spikes rather than a steady flow — an international at the arena, a concert, Melodifestivalen, a large conference at Karolinska — and on those evenings the cars go early. Same-day requests are taken whenever one is free; inside a few hours, call dispatch rather than booking online and we will tell you straight away what is available.
